CRED's aim in developing CE-DAT was to create a global searchable database on complex humanitarian emergencies. This database serves as an essential source of nutritional, health and mortality data for rational decision-making in conflict situations. | Summary |
The overarching goal of the MICRODIS project was to strengthen prevention, mitigation and preparedness strategies in order to reduce the health, social and economic impacts of extreme events on affected communities. MICRODIS' outputs included an evidence-base on impacts, field methodologies and tools for data compilation, impact models, and integrated vulnerability assessments. MICROCON: A Micro Level Analysis of Violent Conflict |

| Summary |
The main objective of the MICROCON project was to use a multidisciplinary approach to study the dynamics of conflict at a micro level. MICROCON included 28 different research projects in over 40 countries, spread over 8 main themes. CRED's contribution - CRED coordinated one of the main themes - "Conflicts and violent impact on health" -, through which it analysed the impact of conflict on the health of affected populations.
