CRED's research focuses on disasters and complex emergencies that have, or had, a major impact on human health. This includes a range of natural disasters (such as earthquakes, floods, storms, heatwaves and droughts) and man-made disasters (such as civil war or strife).
CRED also conducts in-depth research on the implications of humanitarian crises in the fields of human rights and humanitarian law, socio-economic and environmental issues, early warning systems, mental health care and the specific needs of women and children.
