Thomas Jideofor OgbuStaff, Research associate and PhD research candidate
Thomas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and a Master’s degree in Biostatistics from Hasselt University Belgium. He also has a Master’s in Public Health Methodology from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He has worked on several projects in both the financial and health sectors in Nigeria and Belgium. Damien DelforgeStaff, Postdoctoral Researcher
Damien Delforge starts his research career in 2013 as a research assistant at the Earth and Life Institute (ELI, UCLouvain) on flood risk management and hydrology projects. From 2017 to 2020, he completes a Ph.D. in partnership with the Seismology and Gravimetry department of the Royal Observatory of Belgium (ROB) where he studies the hydrology of the Rochefort caves in Belgium using recent machine learning tools and statistical methods of causal analysis. In 2021, he is doing a postdoctoral fellowship for the Centre National d'Etude Spatial (CNES) at the “LIttoral ENvironnement et Sociétés” (LIENSs) in La Rochelle, France, and in the Reference Systems and Planetology department of the ROB on the global analysis of the Earth’s system dynamics, in particular, mass variations in the continents and oceans. At the end of 2021, Damien joins the CRED team to work on the EM-DAT database and its future development. Projects: [field_staff_project]

Valentin WatheletStaff, Development, Main Attaché
Valentin holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences (Clinical Biomedical Sciences Specialization) from the Université Catholique de Louvain. Valentin has also been trained in Bioinformatics and Programming at the University of Liège. He is interested in programming and development, his work focuses on the EM-DAT database and its usability.
